The Atlas Story
In 1986, Atlas Travel began when Elaine Osgood decided to make a career change after a decade of serving children as an elementary school teacher and social worker. Osgood bought a travel agency franchise, opened an office in Milford with one employee, no customers and travel experience that included only personal vacations.
In 1997, after winning every franchise award, Osgood discarded the training wheels and jumped into the arena as Atlas Travel, ready to compete with the country's largest travel agencies. Her perseverance, innovation and unyielding dedication to customer service have catapulted the agency into an award-winning corporation with multiple locations and a list of 50,000 satisfied customers traveling on business and vacation worldwide.
The vacation department, known as Atlas Travel Vacations + Cruises, is known for its detailed, friendly personal service. The agents on our growing Vacation Team are global travel personified. Several were actually born and raised outside of the United States. This offers our customers a truly unique vantage point when planning global travel. Many have professional certifications in particular destinations or cruise lines, and all take great pride in the service they provide.
